Albion Boys and Girls Club – 150 Reasons Murals

Albion Boys and Girls Club, Etobicoke, ON, Canada | November – December, 2016

In the run up to Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017, VIBE Arts has organized a national arts project – the creation of themed murals that celebrate Canada – all to be displayed in the subway system here in Toronto, ON.

I was invited back to Albion Boys and Girls Club and given the opportunity to work with the youth there on 2 murals. Our themes were ‘Fall Colours’ and ‘Diversity.’ While planning the murals, we had lots of great discussion around the different meanings of diversity as well as the history of Canada. This was one of the most thoughtful and teamwork-lead murals I’ve facilitated as diversity throughout Canada’s history can be a rather critical subject. The youth I worked with thought deeply and ambitiously and developed these attractive murals!
