Around the time of this residency, as an emerging artist with VIBE Arts, I assisted Jen Chin on painting program called, ‘Through the Lens of the War Artist.’ This was a very warm residency as I was so familiar with the space and people in the community. My residency was designed as a parter event with the program and I chose to create my own reflection of what a WWII field could look like. With a brief 4 hours to complete my piece, I stuck with a red colour pallet to maximize my drawing time and emphasize moods of tension and alarm.
